Samson Tires

We just bought a used Grand Design Solitude 5er (369RL) that has Samson tires on it. The original owner pulled the trailer from the dealer's lot to a place on a lake nearby. It remained there until we bought it and the tires were kept out of the sun. So the tires look like new, but they are made in China. All I have heard about tires made in China is that I ought to get rid of them as soon as possible. Has anyone had positive experiences with this brand of tire? What is the advice of all you experts?

Most of the "American sounding" names on tires are POS China Made tires plain and simple.

One tire dealer websites says their a all steel ply carcass which puts them in commercial grade tires like the Sailun S637 16" G tires. Check the tire and see if it has all steel carcass description. If they are I would run them. As all heavy tires like a G all steel tire run them at max sidewall pressures for best long term service.
Samson is a old brand mostly in farm and ranch country....small town tire stores....feed stores/etc around here anywayz. I have no idea who made them years back or today but we have some good 16" G load range all steel ply carcass tires like the Gladiator QR35-TR......Hercules H901....Samson GL285T all 16" that are popular on haulers websites for their heavy service trailers.

Guess I should have included this information from the beginning. The tires are ST235/80R16 and GL285T. It looks like these tires were manufactured in 2016 or 2017.

My son has Samson tires on a very heavy duty low boy trailer. Maybe 3 years old. Uses it to haul tractors or whatever. No problems.
Local small town mom & pop tire shop sells them. They sell them to local hot shotters and ranchers.

You don’t say ,,the size or load range. Having said that if you are going to do a lot of travelling,I think I would replace them. Sailing load G seem to work well. For the sake of $5-6 hundred ,it’s peace of mind.

If it has this tire, and not over 5 years old, you might be ok. That is a nice RV, and big too.

I’ve used CHINESE tires for years without a problem. Stay within the weight limit, cover when parked, keep speed within limit, inspect for road damage, inflate to recommended pressure, replace at four-five years and the CHINESE tires will be fine.

So are you saying that these tires are worthless from the moment they are new and forever there after? And I should just get rid of them immediately if not sooner?
