Sounds like you did a lot of things right.
Starting with your wife. Sounds like you got a good one.

I'm lucky too. My wife loves to camp.

I met a new friend on our last trip. He has camped since he was a kid.
Wife hates camping, and only went because of their kids.
I see problems for them...

Glad you had a great trip. That's how to get kids hooked on camping
and on outdoor activities.

You may have had rain, but that doesn't really dampen the trip.
We just returned from camping here in Alabama.
Need I say it... Temps were 90s every day. No clouds.
Nights were mid 60s. (This was in the mountains in North Alabama)
My wife and I always enjoy camping. The temps didn't melt our enthusiasm...
I ran a large fan outside, and a small fan and a Air conditioner inside...

CAMPING IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT.

BTW:
Your next trip should be easier, because yall know what to expect.
The first trip is to work out problems and learn how to camp a little easier.
Menu planning and packing will be easier.
AGAIN ENJOY... ๐Ÿ™‚

just an evening of rain. kids played in the camper for a bit and had some treats. We kept the fire raging so it stayed lit while the awning kept us dry. could have been much worse. rainy days at camp are better than sunny days at home ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks guys. I updated my signature pic, must not have accepted it. ill fix it. I love taking pictures when we are out and about. Always nice to share them and to look back. We have a lot of small weekend and long weekend trips planned the largest is coming up in a few weeks (4 nights). currently Disney world is on the docket so the bulk of our vacation time and budget is being saved for winter 2020. Luckily there are a lot of nice parks within a few hours drive where we live.

Ohh... the memories camping with the kids. Our time camping with the kids, when that size, came in the '60s and 70s.
We fished, so camping and fishing (boat) at one of the many large COE lakes went on just about every weekend till campgrounds closed for the winter.
Good looking truck/trailer combo.
Take lots of pics. When you get close to 80 you will enjoy those times even more.

You'll have to change your photo at the bottom of your posts. It sounds like money very well spent. Just think of all the fond memories your family will have. Do you have any plans for a long trip this summer?
