Hello All,

I hope all are well. I moved to Arizona in the last 8 months. I want to plate my Fuzion toy hauler. I was quoted $850+ for 1 year. I fell off my chair. The person on the phone stated that they go off new MSRP for the trailer. I said 1. It is 4 years old. 2. I have owned it since new.

I have no issues paying on the used price. It is the pay off original MSRP I have issue. If so, Arizona has a good racket going. RV prices fall like a rock.

Curious what others have encountered. This is one thing I did not figure on with this move.

Jay

Are you sure you didn't accidentally call the California DMV?

When you moved to another state vehicle license fees should have been considered along with income and sales taxes, home prices, real estate taxes, medical care and costs etc. Doesn’t AARP provide a state by state chart to members?

Registration Rate: 60% of mfg value first year. Then value reduced 16.25% each year. Rate for a given year is $2.89 per $100 of the year value.

So your initial value is 60%, then 16.25% reduced for four years. Then the fourth year value is divided by 100 and multiplied by 2.89 for that years fee.

That works out to rather high registration for AZ.

Move to Wisconsin. I just paid $15 my TT plates for a year. My motorcycle is $23 for 2 years. My F150 is $106 per year. These prices are for that type of vehicle no matter how old or current or new value.
I read what you people are paying and I just about vaporlock.

When I bought mine I was upset. Has anyone ever paid MSRP for an RV?

AZ vehicle and RV registration cost is ridiculous....a large part of that is a tax on the value of the vehicle/RV. Only good thing is it’s deductible on income tax, but I’d rather not pay it in the first place.
