Smart Locks

I am interested in using a smart lock on our Fifth Wheel. Has anyone else gone this route? Or have suggestions for compatible smart locks?

Love our RVLock as well. Haven't used the front door key in 3+ years.

I'd love to hear what problems people are having with these. I had keyless entry on our sticks and bricks forever, and it was one of the first things to install on our current RV when we bought it back in 2016. Never had any issues with any of them.

I only wish there were Z-Wave compatible models on the market for automation and record keeping, as we have a Ring Alarm system that would integrate with.

We love our RVLockโ€ฆ.the remote is very convenient when you have an arm full. Replacing the batteries was easy.

I don't really like smart locks. There are a lot of problems with them as far as I know. I read in crossroads rv reviews different situations.

I hate wireless remotes. Too easy to misplace.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I understand it may not be the cheapest route to use a smart lock. My ultimate goal is to have a โ€œSmart RVโ€ this is just the first step. Itโ€™s not really a question about if I am going to or not. Just curious if anyone else has installed a smart lock (different then the keyless, though still keyless) and had suggestions for one that would work best, or thoughts on the installation process.

We have RVLock's on both of our RVs. The keypads wear out pretty easy(replacements are not expensive and easy to change), however they come with a remote that will work with two rigs. So we each have a remote that is programmed to each trailer.

YouTube reviews RVLock is the most popular brand, but there are a couple of alternatives. Search Amazon for RV Lock. About 99% of RV doors use an RV standard lock set that's compatible with the RVLock.

"Cheap" alternatives start around $100 and the RV lock is $150-$200. Agree with fj12ryder, great for convenience but not really any more secure.

For ease of entry for different people it would make sense. For security, not so much. You're putting a $200 lock on a 50 cent door.
