I have a 15 year old 5th wheel in perfect condition, but I am no longer allowed in RV parks - the same parks which allowed me in last year. They're all citing "the 10 year rule." Therefore, this 5th wheel serves no purpose anymore as I cannot travel with it. I am done RVing. Rant off.

Not all campgrounds have the same rules, and for those who make them, maybe it's worth having a conversation explaining your loyalty with them. To date, at least.

My 2008 Hitchhiker II is well maintained and much better built than the new stuff, so I'm sticking with it. However, I have been rejected only a couple of times. People like us need to shop around a little harder to find places that will condescend to our lowly level but which are not entirely trailer-trash.

Lie to them about how old your camper is...just like some of them lie to you about being an "RV" Resort...which is only the same RV park as always, just added the word "RESORT" to ad more money for your stay there...

Visit state parks, city parks, or federal campgrounds. Or as PartyOf Five stated talk to management at your campground about their policy. Maybe when they see your rig their will change their mind.

Note: our rig is 17 years and I have never been denied entrance to a park.

My DP is over 20 years old and no one has ever turned me away or even asked for that matter. I might add that I have been in a bunch of them in the last 2 years since the covid thing. By the way, name them.

I have never been asked that, state, private or government campgrounds. This said in the last year or so I have noticed lately a lot of Junkie Rv's on the highway. Maybe some are from the covid newbies pulling the rv's out from the back yard and putting them back on the road again, combine that with the high demand for quality campgrounds/sites in destination type areas and yeah I can see this question/policy might be showing up again.

If your looking in specific areas maybe expand your research farther away. I have noticed lots of very well run Rv parks 20 to 40 minutes outside destination areas that still need the business, it just comes down to researching them. [emoticon]

Plenty of places with no age rules such as the national park system.
Mine has plenty of "patina" at 16 yo. Truck is 20. Plan to run another 10+
Tons of value left to find a new adventure.
