I have a question about Covid. Hope this is the place to ask it. I'm a SR citizen, new to full-time rving. I am in a small RV Park in NM and yesterday the owner said a full-time rver had Covid. This guy was walking around talking to people as if he had the flu. And this is what people sitting around talking think about Covid, that it is just another flu. I don't share that theory and have had my vaccinations plus my booster. I'm older and have done what I could to keep myself safe as well as others around me. For some this situation may not be a problem, but if you have encountered this in your travels what have you done? I am leaving in two weeks so will stay here and keep to myself til I leave. I did not anticipate this as I thought RV Parks followed specific rules regarding health concerns.

This happens everywhere, not just RV parks. All you can do is keep up on your vaccinations, use masks if you have to be around unknown people, wash your hands frequently, and avoid those who refuse to take it seriously.

The covid symptoms are very minor for those who have had the shots and the booster. Many of us have had covid and didn't even know it. It's only those who are not vaccinated that run the risks for complications for the most part. I wouldn't worry about it.

My boss just caught COVID for the second time.
She's gotten the shots and booster, and still got it twice.
I've been vaccinated, and I got it post vaccine.
Point is, no matter what you do, there's still a chance you can get it.
I personally believe that RVing makes it easier to socially distance.
To this day, Im not sure why people still think if they wear a cloth mask that it will protect THEM from someone who is infected. Mask helps keep YOU from passing it to someone else.
At some point, life must go on. Take reasonable precautions and live life.

I’m home recovering from COVID as we speak. I’ve had all 3 Pfizer shots, still got it, and it **** near put me in the hospital last week. I have no additional risk factors and I’m 44 years old. Felt like a 200 pound weight on my chest.
It hits everyone different.

We all know the reasons why Covid is still rampant. It will never go away because of deniers.

As long as I am outside I don’t worry much not wearing a mask. But I avoid getting close to other people, and stay upwind from them when possible. Inside or in a crowd outside I wear my mask even though few others still do. One million + US dead and infection numbers rising again, taking all precautions I can. Vaxed and boosted.

Thank you - all of you!!! I'm an 80 yr old female and really do like living. Plan to go to 100, at least. I appreciate the feed-back.(get well 44 year old) You all have helped me get a better perspective. This covid person walking around in the RV park caught me off guard. I have been feeling pretty safe - maybe too safe. I do continue to wear the mask inside buildings, etc., (I know it protects others and not me, but psychologically I think it also protects me) wash my hands and stay a distance from people. As you say, "one million + dead and numbers rising again". I resent the deniers - have to admit that. Thanks again. Shadowcat.

Wearing a mask does protect the wearer to an extent - how much depends on the type of mask.

Regardless if that guy had Covid or the flu, I think it is just plain inconsiderate to be knowingly spreading germs. I don't like to get sick, whatever it is! If I had the flu, I would certainly not be out socializing!
The RV parks are just like the general public. Some take precautions and some act the same as pre-pandemic. I've been to RV park offices that had set up no contact check-in....and to some where I've gone into their small office with unmasked employee and several other unmasked RVers waiting to check in or just socializing.
I also do everything I can to keep myself safe. You have to set your own boundaries. I've literally had to back up from some people who get what I consider too close to me to talk. My friend was in an RV park laundry room and she had to open a side-swinging dryer door just to get a guy to stay a distance from her.
