I realize it would be faster driving from Kingston Ontario through the province of Quebec down 15 and 87 but we want to cross at Thousand Island border so looking at the route, is U.S route 11 reasonable for driving with a 5th wheel? I don't really want to be stop and go every mile of the way. https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/Twin+Mountain+KOA,+New+Hampshire+115,+Carroll,+NH,+United+States/Yark...

This trip is from Kingston Ontario to KOA Mount Washington NH to Powder Horn Campground in Old Orchard Beach ME then to Camping du Lac Mineur near Montreal then back home
New route
I realize I've got 11 instead of 12 in NY but for ease of google map use (it kept sending me back on the 401)
what do you think?
mindfull of climbs and descents
thank you

and how about 37 to 122 to 11 bypassing Malone?

As you can take longer to sneeze than going through Malone I see no big benefit.

ROute 11 from Watertown area probably a little faster BUT 12/37 so much more scenic. 12/37 usually has way less traffic.

Route 11 is not stop and go going east from Watertown. I suggest NY 12 toward Alex Bay and Ogdensburg.

NY 12 sounds nice but will it be faster than route 11?
which is the least busy and less stop and go?

also, had to switch to map quest now as google map does not send data to Garmin GPS anymore! news to me!

thanks

Good use of Google Maps!!! Easy to see your plan! The only part of your route I have not been on is the Rte 118 and 58 in Vermont. The route across NY is fine, Rte 105 in VT is nice 2-lane - some twists and turns but no problems. And I-91 south to I-93 near St. Johnsbury to Littleton is fine, as is 302 east to Twin Mountain. ST

Route 11 is not stop and go going east from Watertown. I suggest NY 12 toward Alex Bay and Ogdensburg. Right along the river with a couple of nice pull out to look at the river. Continue on rte 37. Stop at the locks in Massena to watch a ship go through if you are lucky. Hogansburg has a casino. 37 eventually joins 11 at Malone NY.

At Alex bay there is a nice parking area with a shuttle to the boat cruise to Boldt castle. Easy parking right on the highway. Big M grocery and liquor store plus gas fill up $2.89 for gas right there as well.

Ogdensburg has a Walmart, Price Chopper Grocery and an Aldi grocery

Definately not stop and go and not crowded either, Mostly along the river.

Wave to me as you cross the bridge I am upriver about 1/2 mile on right. Do not spite
