NM6 looks like a good way around Albuquerque but its not showing as a truck route in my truckers atlas. Doesn't show in grades in my Mountain Directory. Looks ok on satellite.

Any known problems for a 40 ft diesel pusher towing?

Thanks folks, checked traffic which was showing green early afternoon so went via Albuquerque. No problems. Did see signs indicating delays at Hwy 6 exits on I40 and 25.

My measurement is that Hwy 6 is 23 miles shorter than I-40/I-25.

What's your fuel mileage? And cost per mile?

Cost vs time is up to you.

Hy6 is run regular by class 8 trucks & I run it anytime I'm going NW pulling my 35ft 5W. It's just a 2 lane, nothing special.

NM 6 is a decent enough 2 way single lane roadway that can occasionally run slow due to truckers using this bypass route. I do agree that ABQ is not too bad when not traveling through during rush hour, I guess I don't mind using the interstates where many prefer traversing the back roads.

Well, from someone who actually lives in the area, Hwy 6 is a great alternative to passing through Albuquerque. It is a well maintained 2 lane road. It will save you the trip through Albuquerque if that is what you are fearing. Although, the trip through Albuquerque is not that bad if you avoid rush hour.
