Set aside weather considerations. I am more concerned about winding roads. What's the best route in a 26' RV?
even though it's out of the way, thinking of going 80 to 37 to 116 to 101, rather than up the 5 to 299
Currently in a 2016 Navion 24 J no toad. Formerly a 2004 Hallmark Ute on 2002 4wd Ford 3/4 ton; before that a 2014 Tiger Malayan, before that a 2003 Chevy 1/2 T 4X4 with Four Wheel Grandby pop-up

When we have taken I-80 to 37 most of the times we have taken 37 all the way to 101. We also like I-5 to either 20 or 299. When we take 101 & 37 it is usually when we are going south heading to the Rio Vista area on CA 12.

And if you take the 5 to 20, call ahead for sandwiches at Granzella's in Williams. That right there is a good reason to choose that route!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Go north to Hwy. 20 to hwy 101 then north to Cresent City. Hwy. 20 goes through Clear Lake. I tow a 35' 5th wheel that way. Just take your time.
