Solo camping Yellowstone and ? in September

Heading to Yellowstone in September. First solo trip outside western WA since my wife passed 3 years ago and damned if I can come up with many good ideas myself. Have 5 nights reserved at Fishing Bridge, but not sure where to go after. This will be my 4th or 5th Yellowstone/Teton trip and I have up to two weeks to kill.

Trying to decide if I go south through the Tetons after Fishing Bridge closes on the 16th or if I go north through Red Lodge and maybe to Poulson.

Any ideas for an introvert on the road alone?

True...I'm in West Yellowstone right now, YNP for the next week. After that, who knows?

Do a circle trip. Have you seen the beautiful waterfalls between Wa. & Or. along the Columbia river gorge? Beautiful. Have you seen Mt. St. Helens & Mt. Reiner? Have you seen Glacier Nat'l Park?

Well, I see Mt. Rainier almost every day from one part of town or another ๐Ÿ˜‰ I highly recommend Rainier, St. Helens, and the gorge. I may hit Glacier on the way home.
One small note, Going to the Sun Road in Glacier normally closes sometime around Mid September, +/- depending on weather.

City of Rocks is pretty neat; Castle Rock SP (ID) has some nice sites with electric & water. The road into City of Rocks is all packed-down dirt; slippery when wet!!

Haven't been there, but there are some SPs in Montana near Dillon that you can camp at. Dry camping, I believe, or Southside RV Park in Dillon would make a decent base camp to visit them.

Jackson's Hole is a good place to be in September. We like Gros Ventre campground down on the south end of Teton Park...water and dump, and some elec sites.
