Summer Trip

So we are planning a 7-8 week trip this summer to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Some destinations we are playing around with but nothing is written in stone.
1. The Finger lakes of NY
2. Western Ohio
3. Madison, Wi. Attending a convention so this is a must
4. The Mall of America
5. Mt Rushmore and the Bad Lands of South Dakota
Any thoughts about your favorite campgrounds or things to see would be appreciated.

So the first change is already decided. The week we were going to be at Mt Rushmore is bike week so Rushmore is out for this year. Probably going to head South after Minnesota. Thinking about Missouri, then Kentucky then start heading East to get home for the start of the school year.

As we refine the schedule I will post. Just wanted to get any must see things from people in their neck of the woods. Thanks for the some of the ideas. I have posted this on a couple of forums and have some must see places on our list.

On Senaca Lake, Watkins Glen State Park. On Cayuga Lake, Taughannock Falls State Park. Consider touring the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and or the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail to celebrate.

For the Mt Rushmore area, Custer State Park.

A little west of the Fingerlakes is Letchworth State Park. 3 beautiful waterfalls, campgrounds with electric, and, you can treat yourselves to a hot air balloon ride!

If your get as far a Rushmore, you are only two days from Yellowstone. If you want FHU, make reservations now if you can.

I think you would want to zero in on your destination and then we could help with campgrounds.
