The Hill Country is really nice and Luckenbach is a must! If for no other reason, just to say you where there.
FYI. If you enjoy a great burger, the Shade Tree Saloon & Grill in Spring Branch, Texas, on Hwy 281 north of San Antonio and south of Blanco, is the place to go. A great biker bar with the nicest group of retired professionals who let their hair grow and enjoy life.

In Mathis, Tx. there is a full hook-up campground we really liked-Mustang Hollow Campground-we had a site overlooking the Lake. If we are ever in the area again it would be a definite stop-just to kick back and relax, unwind, etc.

Canyon Lake area north of San Antonio. On the edge of Hill Country with SA about an hour south (Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags), Austin an hour to the north (State Capital) and Texas wine country to the northwest. Lots of different RV Parks in this area as well.

My very favorite area in TX is the Hill Country. I like Skyline Ranch in Bandera, about 50 miles from San Antonio. So much to do in day trips, beautiful countryside.

I stayed in about 6 different areas of TX in Jan/Feb of 2019. All had something to offer.

I suggest logging onto the Texas tourist web site and request a free visitor package that includes a very good state map and fairly comprehensive travel book giving lots of info for the various areas of Texas. Depends on your interest as to whether you prefer one or more of the highly varied areas such as coastal plains, piney woods, blackland prairies, high plains, mountains, deserts, hill country, etc. Each has its own features and attractions. And many RV parks to accommodate you.

It is around 800 miles across the state east to west and 800 miles north to south.

* Where in Texas do you want to go? It's a huge state.

* Those months have already passed. Are you considering 2021?
