ATC 28 front bedroom

I will be taking delivery of a new ATC 28' front bedroom toy hauler at the end of Sept. We are driving to Mich to pick it up and will be road tripping our way back to Boise Idaho. No local dealers so we opted to make a road trip of it rather than pay $3k plus for delivery charges. First time I have ever spent this much $ sight unseen for a unit. We are buying based solely on internet research an would welcome any comments/impressions of current owners. What I was able to find on the net was very encouraging concerning build quality and the options offered were just what we were looking for. We will haul a XP1000 Razor or a Indian Chief Vintage motorcycle on road trips. Tow with a 2015 Ram 3500 DRW. Just my wife and I and the dog so I think there will be ample space. Would like to hear from current owners of ATC units....likes/dislikes, etc.
Thanx, Jerry

Glad I found this post. I have been looking closely at an 8.5x28 ATC with the front bedroom as well.

Well, we made the trip to In/Mi to pick up the ATC.....took a leisurely 10 days to get back and I could not be more satisfied with the factory, the dealer, and the unit. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Factory tour was really impressive and they treated us well. Dealership took care of business in a very professional manner. Had a problem with a blown thermal fuse in the fridge on day 3 of trip. They helped me troubleshoot over the phone and I had a part in hand that afternoon from a local rv dealer and we were back in business. Build quality on this unit is superb and tows effortlessly with out sway or WD hitch behind my Ram 3500. Fighting sw winds all the way back to Boise we averaged 9.5 mpg cruising 65-70 mph for 2300 mi. I changed the tongue jack to a side mount Fulton fold up to facilitate use of my truck tail gait while still connected to the unit. Other wise, this is a thing of beauty.....looking forward to a lot of years of dependable use. Will take it and the Indian down south for a couple of months this winter snowbirding.

Do you have the offroad height adder? Seems higher than hvac's

Did you get the foam underbelly sprayed on?

What is the hitch you did, can you show a pic?

So how is it, honestly, pro's/con's so far?

thanks

That speaks volumes regarding build quality. I was sitting next to ours in a rv park and realized the big difference between other trailers and ours regarding the one piece nature of the fenders. More like a automotive design vs the rest.

Certainly looks great but in a blow out it also gives the structural integrity not available in a traditional rv.

Thanks for the feedback.

One nice thing about these trailers and my similar one is the metal fenders. I had a blow out on the passenger side and drove for prob 20 miles before I realized it. Nothing but a rim left and it only left a few rubber smudge marks on the black fenders..

Beautiful trailer, congrats! Glad to hear you’re happy with the quality of it and how it pulls! I have seen the black trim on the trailers at the Michigan dealer, any thoughts as to how the finish will hold up over time, rock chips etc etc?

Congratulations. Really like the stainless trim!!
We just completed the run to N.Cali.

Love the ability to pull into a Casino, turn on the genny and home!. You will love it, and no big surprises regarding build quality. We have about 5k miles on ours so far. No issues, none...

Nice TH. Did you get the additional 4 in clearance option on deck height with your rig? Just curious.

Jerry

No. She's a low rider. Works for me, low and stable for highway use. Not good for anyone with off road use.

Thanks hvac, I'm sending you a private message with some questions.

Edit: I guess you don't allow private messages. Is there any other way I can contact you regarding specific questions I would rather talk about privately?

Great looking setup hvac! I like the ATC trailers without the graphics. Thanks for the towing report and pictures. I also have a silver truck and will go with a white or silver trailer. I just have to decide which model I want to spring for and what dealer to buy it through.
