Genny Question!

Wanting to know if there is any cross reference number for an Onan #122-0836 oil filter for a Onan5500 EVSP genny. Thought Fram did but couldn't find one, local RV dealer always has to order at the price of 24.95 a pop.

Amazon can overnight ship stuff.
So unless you have to change your oil in 2 hours because you are leaving, I don't see how availability can be a reason.

Thanks ruff. hopefully taking care of it this coming weekend. I believe I'm heading the Wix route also due to it's availability also.

Did my first oil change a little while ago and went with the Wix filter mainly due to availability. (Like someone said: O'Reilly's)

Just be aware that the OEM filter is not a standard filter size and if you don't have the right filter tool it is a pain to get it out of the 5500.

when I had my dependable local auto parts guy cross it over he said the Onan filter was rated "heavy duty" and the cross over WIX was actually more expensive than the Onan from my local RV store.

Imo, get the Onan oil filter.

All the cross referenced oil filters I've tried, wix, napa,fram,etc.., have all 'fit', but are shorter than the oem Onan filter.
With the way the oil filter just sticks thru that rubber boot on the bottom of the genny, without that extra filter length, makes it a little harder to grip it and spin it off/on...
