This is directed more towards the part-time travelers rather than full-time due to usage, but I look forward to reading everyone's input. I'm curious how long everyone has their 5th wheel before upgrading. I know some people that change vehicles like underwear and just wondered if trailer life is the same.

Agreed. We bought the rig in my signature almost 2 years ago because it is a top quality unit with full winter package, disc brakes, huge frame and axles, and great layout with nice features like Korian countertops, built in baseboard heaters, heat pump in AC, built in vacuum, etc. We have done a ton of upgrades to it including built in surge protector, complete LED lighting upgrade, surround sound stereo, LED TV's, etc to modernize it and make it ours. We also take extremely good care of it with regular washing and waxing, regular sealant check ups and touch ups, and keep it spotless inside as well. We have decided to put it indoors over the winter seasons as well to help preserve it.

Even with all of this we are still well under half of what a new unit would have been and many of the new ones do not have what this one does, such as disc brakes.

Don't know if you are limiting to fifths. We are at 13 years in the motorhome. Thinking we'll go to 25 years and then reaccess.

We bought our 1994 Terry 305 in 1999 and sold it in 2015. We shopped around for almost a year before buying the slightly smaller but heavier 2011 Arctic Fox.

We used a pre-owned 1999 American Star for 13 years before buying new this year. Down sized both truck and camper from 32 ft to 28 and F350 diesel 4x4, crew, dually long bed with leather to F250 work truck, with long box and 4x4. Yes we are happy and thrilled with smaller. Bigger is not always better LOL.

We'll have owned our Cougar for 10 years next spring. Its been an outstanding rig.

We've looked at new trailers multiple times, but haven't found anything that makes us want to uprgrade.
