Long term parking

DH and I will likely start full timing in early 2021. We love to travel by RV but also plan to do some travel without the RV. At times we may be gone for 2-4 weeks. My question is where would we park the RV during these times? We'd need somewhere safe and not too expensive. We have no family that would have space for an RV. Also, we would probably want the RV close to the airport we fly out of.

It seems like RV storage places want a long term commitment and since we'll primarily be living in our RV, I wouldn't necessarily want an ongoing storage space.

Thanks!
Cynthia

Be aware- the hidden big surprise/expense of this is that most places don't offer electric for storage. This means you have to dump the contents of the fridge and that is remarkably expensive!

Also, consider airports. Some have "oversized vehicle parking". We did it for 2 or 3 weeks in Las Vegas for cheaper than most other places around. And the shuttle came and picked us up to take us to the airport terminal.

Almost all of the RV storage places around us are month-to-month. Maybe check a little closer in the areas you'd maybe want to leave it? There has to be something.

Most campgrounds have a storage area, shouldn't be a problem.

Self storage lots should be ok for that.

Also "trailer parks" where most of the units are "semi-permanent" residences.

You will be extremely lucky if you find a place at an acceptable cost AND also close to the airport......or any other specific location for that matter.

But then.....if that will be your "residence" most of the time, you might have to "eat" the cost of lot rent for those weeks that you will be gone, by air OR by RV.

Trying to save a few bucks for short periods like that can turn out to be a big hassle and maybe even more expensive in total.
