We are heading down in November, not sure exactly where. We have now been to every State in Mexico so it is just a matter of deciding the places we like best. We did not go to the Yucatan last winter so maybe we will end up there. I just wish they would do some work on the highway between Puebla and Villahermosa*.

JOY

JOY, is never having to leave, EVER.

Joy is buying a crate of organic (no fungicide) manila mangoes for 100 pesos, getting invited to share a cauldron of steaming "Caldo de Siete Mares" with a stack of bolillos, having a bevy of little girls beat on the door and yell "Hurry, or you'll be late to the wedding!"

"clang-clang-clang (fifteen times)" from la campa?a de la iglesia. Being happy with a bowl of frijojes negros refritos, con queso de cotija, tortillas, sal, chili and musica.

No moans, no phones, no drones, and no crones.

But there is the threat of having maybe someday having to head north for medical.

Donna,
If you are not at ease traveling alone, there are web sites where people pre-arrange to meet and cross the border together. Some folks just team up with others at the Nogales Wallmart.
Another popular Mexican caravan is Vagabundos del Mar. We belong to the Vagabundo's boating club. As independant travelers, we would never join one of these things but we've heard excellent reports of their Mexican caraventures.

Donna, most of us who post here travel alone. We have gone alone for six months each winter for six years and have covered every State in Mexico in our 31' class C.

There are caravans that travel mexico but you do not get the same experience. We would never do it.

Caravans are a good way to get your feet wet, especially if you are a little nervous, or have a larger rig and are not sure where you can & cannot take it. Jumping in with both feet is not for everyone. Obviously those of us who have gone down for years would not use a caravan. Many base their impressions on the huge French Canadian ones we see down there in the PV area, but there are English speaking outfits like Caravanas de Mexico, Adventure & Fantasy all running caravans down the mainland, plus Baja Amigos & Baja Winters on Baja as well. You can find a longer term one so its not just a quick up & down. Without them we may be seeing more RV park closures, so they are probably a good thing for all of us. At least til things recover.

We're planning our trip now - best case scenario is we'll get all the way to Belize this winter . . . but we're not committed to anything yet. Travelling in our truck camper, so should be easier than pulling the 5th as in the past. On my bucket list is to be on the Gulf of Mexico to see the sunrise, and then on the Pacific for the sunset . . .hope we get there this year! Safe travels everyone! Bev and Arturo

Not me but I have some questions:)

So do all of you go down there in a convoy like thing or alone?
(Someone spoke about a trekthing).
