Curb weight of Thor Challenger 37kt

Does anyone happen to know what the approximate curb weight is on the Thor Challenger 37KT class A motorhome is. I am trying to figure out how much weight is left for safely towing on the 8K hitch, it has a GCWR of 26,000 lbs. I want to tow a 2012 Ford F150 4X4 that weights approx. 6,000 lbs. I am shopping for a new class A gas and I am considering the Challenger 37K. Thanks in advance for your input.

Does that mean your tow capacity is less than 2k?

I'm allowed 22,000 GVWR, so I can pack 1420 more pounds of stuff and my GCWR is 26,000. So if I max out my weight, I still have 4,000 tow capacity. My Fiat 500 weighs 2416, so I'm still 1584 under weight if I understand this right.I just went to a scrap dealer yester and drove on their scale. When I get packed up more, I'll do the same to check it. Hope that helps?

GCWR 26,000 that means he has around 5K but with only 1/3tank of gas I would guess more like 4K

Everyone thanks for the input. I understand how to determine the towing capacity I was hoping someone had weighed this model already. It looks like my best bet is to contact Thor. I doubt if Thor would designed and built right up to the 22k capacity I suspect there is 4k to 5k lbs margin but need to confirm it. When I find out I will post it. THANKS

No way would that 37 foot motorhome be 4k to 5k under 22,000 lbs, my 08 Bounder 32 foot curb weight listed by Fleetwood says 17,400 lbs.

I suspect its true curb weight is around 19,000 to 20,000 lbs.

Here is a link to the specs and it does show its on a gvwr 22,000 lb chassis and can tow 8000 lbs, I think the specs are wrong on this here, how can a 37-38 foot motorhome with slide outs sit on a 22,000 lb chassis and still tow 8000 lbs..

What it should say is a gvwr 24,000 lb chassis and can tow up to 4000 to 5000 lbs.

Builders have done some strange stuff in the past. They might leave you 1.5K. Newmar has a diesel rig that even empty the front axle is almost at max.

Thor weighs each RV before it leaves the factory. But that is with out your stuff!! I had a similar issue as I had a 13 F150 but decided to get a light SUV to tow.

My Georgetown XL has a sticker from the factory inside the kitchen cabinet that list the dry weight as it left the factory of 20,335. My GVWR is 24,000 and my GCWR is 30,000. If I load my coach up to it's GVWR limit that means I can load 3665 of cargo , people, water ect and still tow 6,000 pounds for towing but my hitch is only rated for 5,000 so my limit is 5, 000. My Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon weighs 4,500 so I am ok. The 22,000 pound GVWR and 26 GCWR chassis are real limited in how much you can tow. You will never be able to use the full capacity of an 8,000 pound hitch.

Weighing it is the only way. And it must be weighted like you are travelling (food, water, fuel, people)

subtract this weight from your GCWR.

If you are 26k and you weigh loaded 22k, you only have 4k left.

A dealer isn't going to know this, or tell you if they do know. You need to call Thor. The unknown is how much stuff you plan on packing. No one is going to know this. But you can get close.
