Help with Computer issue

Could someone help. I had to purchase a new modem as the 20 year old one that I had finally died. After calls to Century Link and Motorola, I got it to work on everything but my new computer. I think I need to remove the programming for the new modem and reinstall it but I can't for the life of me, figure out how to do it. Is there a way?

Thought I ask this yesterday
How does the computer connect to the modem. Pick one

RS-232 (a 9 or 25 pin "D-Bell" connector

Cat-5/6 (a large version of the common modular phone plug)

Wi-Fi

In the first two cases modern computers do not need any special drivers, or adapters they should be built in, at least the LAN (Cat5/6) adapter..

IF WI-FI.. there are multiple types of Wi-Fi encryption and not all do all.

OPEN (no password or pre-shared key needed)
WPA as I recall this is an older method I have one adapter that won't do it.
WEP 1, 2 and I think now they have 3,,, Most modern boxes do this.

Make sure you have the right version and the right PSK. you can use a different connected device to figure it out.

Even then some days...

Probably as in DSL modem.

Go to device manager, open network adapters. This should be enabled automatically. verify it is.
Open network connections. You will need the modem access code located on the back of modem to connect. It should ask for it when you first connect. It should store this and will not be needed each time you connect.
My internet access is on taskbar lower right corner.
