Why dogs should ALWAYS wear life vests when boating.

Dog rescued 3 hours after going missing in Gulf
http://www.fox35orlando.com/news/136395264-story

This little guy is alive after 3 hours missing in the Gulf of Mexico because he had a life vest on!

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

Last winter (2015) they found two dogs swimming, not together, way off shore, one was near drowning.
But they both were all over the news trying to find the owner, no one ever claimed these two dogs so the rescuers kept them.
They didn't have life vest on so the conclusion was they were dumped to an almost certain death.
This little guy was obviously loved and the life vest is nice but he needs to be tethered to something so he can't go over the side.

Training your dog to NOT leave the safety of the cockpit would be a good idea, too. Boats are slippery.

I remember the story of "coconut Harry" that fell overboard in Florida, no vest. And they found him on a Island with a bunch of monkeys! Lucky dog.

That is the best advertisement for a pet life vest, because it really happened.
If this doesn't convice boaters to get one for their pets, nothing will.

Thanks for posting.
