I have XanTrex RV2012 2000W inverter and a RC7GS controller setup for auto starting my Onan generator. For batteries, I have (4) Interstate GC2-XHD-UTL 6V batteries (CAP-20: 232AH, ReserveCapacity25: 474 AH) wired in series/parallel to make 12V with a capacity of 464 AH (If I calculated this right).
Are my following RC7GS settings correct and/or optimized for longer batt life?
Search Sense: 5W (I'm thinking of setting this to higher to maybe 30W)
Auto LBCO: On
Batt Type: Liquid Lead acid
Battery Capacity: Auto (Should I manually set this to 1000???)
Charge rate: 100% of max (Should this be lowered to 90%??)
External Shunt: This inverter
Fuel gauge cutout: 11.8 VOC = 0% SOC
Generator Start: Auto at 50% SOC
Generator Stop: Auto at Float
Also, I've never performed a "Equalization' and I'm not sure when to do it. We just got back from a trip and the motorhome is plugged into A/C and the RC7 reports that the batts are fully charged and in float charge state. Can you initiate a "Equalization" charge while in this float state or should I wait until the batts are depleted and charging to initiate this state?
Thanks
