it must be that the ford truck is easy to break into.

at one time the Honda accord was the most stolen car, do not know if it still is, but it too must have been an easy mark.

I know my 2005 dodge diesel has a std key.
but the wife's Toyota van, I do not know if fort knox experts could make a key to get into that thing.

I know one thing, it would sure give you a sinking feeling to come back to your vehicle and find it had been broken into and you stuff gone. Plus your door and or ignition switch torn all to pieces.

The solution is a set of Jimmy Jammers.

I did find it funny that when I bought my truck, which a sticker of nearly $46K in 2005, it has a standard key, unlike my wife's Focus, bought new in 2002, which has a PATS chip key and the sticker there was only $18K.

Just punched a hole next to the lock on our F-350 last summer in a mall parking lot near Chicago in the middle of the day with lots of road and foot traffic going on all around it. I don't think it took them 30 seconds to empty the front seat and glove box. We came back to it an hour later and my coffee cup was on the ground.... I looked in the passenger door window and called the police.

When I googled for incidents... I came up with half a dozen Ford trucks being hit in one night the previous week in Bismarck ND. That was where we were headed.

There isn't enough steel around the lock on Ford F series trucks. This has been going on since the 90's. Our Ford is a 1999. It does not have electric locks or windows.
