I have a 2008 Dodge with factory tow package. My truck camper hangs over the edge by about 26 inches. I am currently extending the hitch with an 18 inch extension. I want to extend out farther, about 36 inches. Do I need both the super hitch and truss or just the truss?

Is your factory receiver 2" or 2.5"? If it is the larger, Curt or Resse have the extension.

I'm towing a 10 X 6 enclosed cargo trailer. Dry weight 900 lbs. 1700 pounds loaded.

I like the idea of a 2.5 foot exension? Does that attach to the factory tow hitch?

The SuperTruss requires a double receiver to get its rating. For any kind of hitch weight that requires a WDH, I would definitely use a SuperHitch and SuperTruss. For lighter weight tows, you can get away with a Class V receiver and 2.5" extension if you add side chains. If you only have a Class IV or III receiver, I would not go more than couple of feet towing anything under 3500 lbs.
