Width of a 2017 Lance 850 without jacks

Hi everyone,
I am looking at a new Lance 850 that needs to be shipped to Germany if I decide to buy it. If it can be made to fit inside a shipping container, transportation will be much easier. The factory width is 96", which is just a few inches too much.

Is anyone here with that camper who could find out the actual width with the jacks removed? Has anyone tried to shoehorn a similar TC into a container?

Thanks a zillion,
Joerg

Thanks for the response!

I know width is an issue there. That is why Northstar Campers can be bought over here - they are narrow enough to fit inside a container.

I have my eyes an that particular camper for a number of reasons. It looks like I need to have the seller put it on a dolly an go RoRo. How are the campers sent from the factory to the dealerships? On the back if a Pickup Truck?

I think most camper size specs are listed for the main body width, length, height, without consideration for appendages such as jacks, ladders, vents, a/c units, etc.

Most shipping containers are 96" outside width, which means about 92" inside width. Wide body containers are 102" outside, which means about 98" inside width, if my memory serves me right.

You may want to look for a narrow body camper, 84", if you want to ship it on a container ship. Six-Pac and Capri both make/made narrow body hard side campers in the 8'-8.5' floor length models.
