These two inverter generators appear to be clones, except for the color. The Generac uses their typical orange and black and the Craftsman is red and black.

A couple nice features I have notice are
  • a standard 120V receptacle AND a twist lock 120V 30A (NO TT-30)
  • they claim to be 2300W continuous and 300W peak

The only place I could find the Craftsman version was on eBay, and the price was around $500.

Any "real world" experience with either ? Can they really do 2300W continuous ?

through the years, Generac has manufactured most of Craftsman/Sears portable generators. Looks like those to are "cousins" for sure.

You can get a new Champion 3100w inverter generator from Camping World and Gander, for $699. And it has a true RV 30 amp outlet.
You can buy refurbished units for $579.

Lowes sells the Generac version, but wants $997 for it
Generac
Advertising does claim 13,500 ac capable. With something they are calling "Power rush" which supposedly increases current for easier starts on some appliance.
They also have the Craftsman, $849
