Checked on campgrounds in Cody, Wyoming, and they're are a number with good reviews on rvparkreviews.com We are planning a late September trip. Our primary goal is to spend a 1 /1/2 to 2 days at the Buffalo Bill Museum. Looking for a good RV park near the museum. Need 30 amp and full hook ups, dog park would be nice, have our own WIFI and don't care about the "resort" designation.

We've stayed in both Ponderosa and Absaroka. Ponderosa is very convenient the museum but the entrances and exits to the park are on a very busy highway and can back up onto the road at peak check in times. The back in sites are cramped. Next in Cody we will definitely choose Absaroka.

For a good breakfast try Our Place on the highway not far from Ponderosa.

We stayed in Cody last September, but outside town at Trout Ranch Camp. We had a level, gravel, FHU, pull-thru. We were also there to go to the museum and to day-trip to the NE entrance of YNP, Cooke City, Beartooth Highway, and Red Lodge. We also spent several hours at the nearby, outstanding Heart Mountain WWII Japanese "relocation camp" museum.

We like Absaroka, too! You may consider purchasing tickets to the History Tour on the trolley. Of all the things we love about Cody, this is one of our favorites!

We will be in Cody the middle of Sept. I hope you enjoy your trip!

We've stayed at Absaroka & Ponderosa. Ponderosa is a better location for town, but Cody is small, so the drive is nothing. Ponderosa does have pull-thrus, but in the 2nd section. I would ONLY stay in that section. The other section was packed like sardines.

Between the two, if we were to go again, we'd stay at Absaroka.

Absaroka Bay x2 -- Much the same as 'accsys' very accommodating when needed to change/extend dates due to Postal business. Stayed there in 2010. Yessss, the museum takes a good 2 days. JM2ยข

The two most popular seem to be Ponderosa and Absaroka Bay RV Park if you want hookups. We stayed at Absaroka Bay back in 2011 and found it met our needs in all ways. It also has pull-throughs which Ponderosa didn't and I don't think they have them still. Pictures of our site are available on our blog at the Cody Stop

We have stayed in town at the Ponderosa Campground and outside of town at the KOA. You will have more road noise at the Ponderosa, but it's close to the museum. Both places were nice, though the Ponderosa was more crowded. Here's a website for a dog park which is south of town.
