Heading to San Diego for a few nights at Campland in late June. DW has a good friend who lives in Yuma and we were thinking of stopping to see her. Wanted to get recommendations for a place to stay for 1-2 nights, preferably on the AZ side and that has lots of shade. Also, places to =avoid=, too!

TIA,

How about stopping into Araby Acres in Yuma and give us a report as I booked the month of Feb at that park. From the reviews I saw it appears to fit the needs we have for that months stay. They do have nightly rates for your short stay. Hope you have an enjoyable trip.

Rivers Edge and Sans are easy to get to and do have some trees. We are out here in the Yuma Foothills and it hasn't even gotten hot yet.

Yuma is an interesting place. My time there was spent with people mostly over 80 having a great time. Luaus, two piece bathing suits, golf carts with flames and mag wheels. Not my scene, but people were having fun.

Sans End RV park in Winterhaven has trees and costs less than River's Edge. https://sansendrvpark.com

Guys, we're not talking Quartzsite. There's a lot of water in Yuma via that little ditch called the Colorado River, and I've been through there enough to know that most of the older RV parks have mature landscaping. I'm just looking for some nicer places for a couple nights that has at least =some= shade.

Shade, any shade at all in Yuma? The man likes to make jokes.

Shade in Yuma? Thereโ€™s a concept. Samโ€™s Club has covered parking there because palm trees arenโ€™t much on shade.

We look for good power for the ACs. A 6' tree is considered a shade tree in AZ. Expect 100F+. :B
