Moving over to the motorhome forum

After 45 years of RVing and 30+ years dragging a 5er around the country we made the switch to a motorhome. I appreciate everything the forum members did to help us with various fifth wheel issues and improvements and I look forward to getting comfortable with a motorhome and small toad. Safe travels top you all!

Just a quick update from the road, day 2 of the inaugural 18 day trip. Everything is going great and I’m getting more comfortable driving this big box down the road. It’s smaller than my truck and fiver but sitting in my truck didn’t feel so big. I really like the maneuverability of the MH versus pulling the fiver behind me. I got through a parking lot and into a gas station I never would have tried with the trailer. Set up and break down are much faster and easier. I like driving the toad around stops rather than a long bed, crew cab, dually diesel. I miss all the storage the fiver had and the way that passing trucks (both ways) had minimal effect on the rig. Fuel mileage was a little better on the fiver.

That’s it for now. I’ll add more as the adventure progresses. Be safe!

try it, you might like it. I’m never going back and I even have a F350

I have asked guys what they liked when they had a MH. The usual answer was they could see a long ways down the road.
