Extend-a-stay alternate

My 2003 Monaco DP has a large propane tank but it does not last a full season as a snowbird.

I purchased the Camco Extend-a-stay and tried to install it but the line on my coach is much smaller than the Camco unit and the installation would not work unless I totally replumbed the lines.

Does anyone know of another source for the 4-way valve that uses smaller fittings or should I just live with what I have and move twice a year when I need propane?

We already conserve using some electric heaters and electric for the water heater. But the furnace is great on cold FL nights.

I did not use or like the "Extend A Stay" I went to a Home and Hearth store in Oregon where they had a lot of propane stuff. For me they made my adaptor out of a brass tee with the POL fitting on either end to fit the tank valve and regulator, nothing bulky.

I would say that a place that builds BBQs and fireplaces and outdoor kitchens may have some thing or maybe Granger.

Looking at the photo it looks like the thread on the valve is 1/2 inch IP if so just put in a brass tee.

You have a electrical solenoid for the shut off. You are just going to have to convert to a different fitting unless they have something else. If you have a propane place near they might be able to help faster than you can find the right fitting. I thought that that type valve had been removed years ago to a manual shutoff. Probable wrong in my thinking. But the propane shop should know for sure. Maybe Doug will ring in.

The 4 way does go where you are saying and yes I have read and seen the videos and no I am not trying in the wrong area. Here is a photo so you can see that I really do understand. BTW I have built and designed 17 manufacturing plants.

The fitting should be standard on your gas system so you either got the wrong one or you are not installing it where it should go. wa8yxm video is right on.

The line is much smaller? The Extend-a-stay goes between the valve and the regulator. The valve fitting on a class A is normally a standard Prest-o-lite (POL, the joke is Put on Left as it has a left hand thread) They only come in one sizw.. Sounds like your are installing in the wrong place.
