Dogs grazing

Has anyone noticed their dogs really chowing down on particular weeds out west. There is one plant with long narrow leaves, the type called lanceolate meaning shaped like a lance head. Both my dogs will sit and eat those leaves for several minutes. No obvious harmful affects. So hopefully it isn't locoweed.
This only happens in the west, I never seen it in the east. First time we noticed it was on a trail behind Zion NP but the stuff is all around our camp in a COE CG on the Missouri river in NE.
I could post a photo of the stuff. If it is really harmless someone could figure out how to make dog treats out of it and make a fortune...heh.

OK doing a bit of internet search I found that it is probably something called goosegrass:
My dog, a 4-year-old whippet called Merlin, occasionally seems to select and eat goosegrass (Galium aparine) from a hedgerow, carefully pulling out stalks and ignoring the other plants surrounding it. Is he self-medicating, and if so, how does he know which plant to eat?

There are a number of other hits on it too. One guy in England is selling the stuff.

My Bat-dog liked everything but pineapple. She really tried to eat it - it was considered food after all - but she just couldn't do it. She very politely spit it out on the picnic table seat next to Aunt C who had given it to her. She loved all the melons.

Tornado-dog eats ice. He will suck on it for a while and then chew it up.

Yeah, both my dogs eat it every time they go outside. No problems from it. They just really seem to like it.
