Surge Protector

I'm sure this has been discussed in the past, but I would like to get a 50 amp surge protector for my RV. I would like to hear what surge protector you use, and why you picked. Also if you can share any reviews on your choice. Thanks

autoformer with better surge than PI or SG-->Magnum inverter/charger(limited to 24 amps)-->RV

Same one I purchased. After pouring over the reviews, I decided to spring for the portable version. The one I received has an anti theft ring attached. so I can secure it to the power pedestal. Can't go wrong with the Progressive EMS and the lifetime warranty was a major reason to choose it.:C

I use the Southwire/TRC hard wired one.. I'd rather have a Progressive Industries HW-50C but due to a rather impressive sale the one I have was about half the price...

Why Hard wired: Outta Sight of sticky fingers out of mind.

And it works well.. And yes it has already discovered an issue that COULD have caused me problems.. except it shut me down.. I reported it to the park and they found ... A screw loose. They tightened but I've not yet returned to the sight.

I had a portable but .. Well. it suffered from exposure Plus I had to outside to look at the display (The modern ones have a radio remote display) the hard wired has a hard wired display that's on my info/control panel INDOORS.. Kind of nice

Same here. The display looks like that of a calculator from 1973 but it works well.

Progressive EMS. total protection, not just against surge. either portable or hardwired. i went portable, just so i could plug it in at pedistal to know if there were problems before setting up. best there is and has a lifetime warranty.
