Hope to get to Mobile or even Biloxi, MS tomorrow. I was stationed in Biloxi at Kessler AFB 51 years ago.

We'll be heading west from there... california in a couple of months... home in August
We hope to see some of you over the next 5 months.

Don't tell anyone where we are:W

Inquirees have made me think a bit...

and to share 2012 SPRING LOOP

the general plan... miss the tornados.... be home before the first of June

We are heading south thru Jimmy Carter country to Tallassee... and he coast... getting away from the middle America E/W interstates and the tornado alleys.

We'll be heading west and then down toward Brownsville... then follow the border to NM... North as far as rocky Mtn NP and then head east thru Nashville toward the end of May... we have never been inside the State Capital.

I'll be posting some as we go...

PS... the camperport did great in the storms, no damage that I can see... best $3500 I spent last year. I highly recommend it.

Merry Christmas Chet and Janet. I'd send you an email but my blackberry has been replaced by an iPhone and it won't find any data coverage where we are camping this Christmas even.

Have a great Christmas,

It is really good to see you posting on this thread again and hope things are going well for you both! I guess I am also about 100 days behind on a TR as well, but that FF upgrade was/is sure nice. THANK YOU! I definitely plan on replacing the relatively useless bathroom fan one of these days as well. If we'd have stayed any longer in the east I might have already done it but we've been back out west since the end of October. Not much rain but we did have a couple of nights around -5F! Time to head SOUTH! Looking forward to some of the beach report.....we'll be heading across Texas in about a month. Keep on trucking Chet, and hello to Janet!

I haven't been on for a long time... I'm still a 49 night trip behind on this thread.

It is from Cajun country in Louisana to Brownsville TX boondocking on the beaches all the way.

we have been taking care of medical issues.

We recently had a visitor and his wife. We upgraded his Fantastic Fan Model 4000 to a Model 6150 using spare parts tha I had on hand. Now he has rain sensor, motor drive to open and close the dome and thermostatic control.... every thing automatic.

I also did an overhaul on our camper.... a little here, a little there.

The camper is ready to go... Janet still has some PT and I need another test... or two. We want another trip of two...

I hope that all of you are using your campers.

As they say," Gettin old ain't for sissies" and "If you don't use it you loose it." Are operable terms that we too are facing. Linda had a cataract operation 2 years ago after which she went blind in that eye. A Pituitary tumor was discovered pressing on the eye, origin unknown. After brain surgery she has recovered completely. Modern medicine is our friend. Recently kidney stones and melanoma surgery set her back, briefly.

At present we are staying in our TC, in the front yard, whilst some of our family resides in the bricks. Linda is resolute that we will continue the gypsy life as long as possible. I have cut down on some of the maintenance, letting others stroll on the roof etc. Falling could be a rather large set back! At 78 slower is better'n noer.

Hang in there Chet! We have all been very lucky to be able to achieve the independence and joys of TCing. The key, for me has been Linda's willingness to opt for both the open road and the open sea, in leau of permanently porch perching. All ahead a little slower helmsman.....
