Assateague island?

Has anyone been there lately? We were there 2 years ago and got a great site right at the dunes side. I read somewhere that they were going to close those sites to RV's because it was too much to keep the sites clear of sand

We did the National park a few years ago and the workers clearing sand out of the sites said the ocean side loop was closing and they were moving those sites to the other side of the street. We haven't been back since.

We were there in April. The campgrounds were closed then , but they were working to get them ready. Website says they are open. LINK
I'd suggest giving them a call.
